Welcome to SHEDLIGHT! This site is an informational resource for anyone who feels like their civil rights have been violated because of the ways in which they are viewed by society, a group or individual. This site came to fruition when Ed Furlong felt that his rights had been "trampled upon," by the local selectmen from his home town of Bartlett, New Hampshire, and a federal government employee from the Forest Service; these officials working within their respective departments to conspire together, have failed their oaths of office and like many government officials before them have committed improprieties and/or went beyond the threshold of whats expected of them and committed acts while under color of law; acts against Ed Furlong. Suffice it to say, we are talking about what Ed refers to as "Threshold" criminal acts. Threshold acts, are acts committed by public officials or police against tax paying, law abiding, citizens who for whatever reason, issues over tangible property usually, that pertain more to a civil nature but the act perpetrated by "the" official or policeman against it's citizen is of a malicious intent to injure; while denying a duty of cared owed through their respective official offices. This is what happened to Hob Ed. Theses two rogue Bartlett selectmen blockaded hobo Ed's life's pleasure by arresting him (4 times) on a roadway that parallels his historic lodging property. The Reader will find out through examining the text within these pages that our civil rights as they were once scribed by our founding Fathers are seriously endangered and threatened,...as a would be rare species...(see "Bartlett Corruption Suit" or "The Struggle" tabs above to learn more)
In the past, Ed experienced periods of homelessness and alcoholism. He had a series of setbacks in his life prior to re-entering society as a sober member, or an alcoholic in full recovery for use of a better term. Over time, Ed was able to overcome many of the hardships he faced (Through AA) and now he is a successful business owner and a productive member of society.
Ed feels that the actions by the selectmen, specifically Doug Garland, are a malicious attempt to stifle Ed's business pursuits, and oppress Ed as a businessman and human being, and are based on personal vendettas due to Ed's past reputation as a former homeless man and Hobo,...but now a successful businessman. These overt machinations against Ed are all attributable to Doug Garland's jealousy and arrogant behavior as a selectman, and the continued acrimony and competition between Ed and selectman Garland's competing cabin rental businesses (ie., Abenaki Inn & Cabins, inc., and Mountain Home Cabins,LLc). Through his selectman's official capacity and power Garland has deliberately made Ed's quality of life decline using his selectman's office as a vendetta tool to accomplish his wrong doing against Ed; to combat this situation, Ed has filed a civil rights action (US42:1983) lawsuit and plans to file a class action lawsuit later this year regarding the "right of way" or the class VI road that has been attached to Ed's historical lodging property ( Gateway Inn est., 1876) from 130 years ago that selectman Garland and Bartlett recreation director Annette Libby has blocked off. The selectmen, specifically Garland, and Annette Libby has broken many RSA/law(s) but the New Hampshire Attorney General's office is slow to act because of the ongoing case they are already pursuing against former Bartlett selectman Jon Tanquay(see story...Hobo Ed's Editorial page). Doug Garland has, along with recreation director Annette Libby, maliciously and arbitrarily gated & locked the class VI road without electoral vote in direct violation of RSA 231:43, that is breaking the law as written! Coupled with that these officials have erected a six foot high fence blocking Ed's access to his lodging cabins in violation of RSA 236:16 & RSA 236:15. Ed calls this a "Revenge Fence" see RSA236:15
